Bike seat cover by Knip

This bikeseat cover is inspired by a 19th-century still life painted by Dutch artist Henriëtte Gertruida Knip (not to be confused with her niece and namesake known for her cat paintings). Knip is less well known today, but she really was no average painter. Imagine a medley of roses, tulips, ladies’ purses and those mysterious black irises - all flamenco in a vase. Knip made enchanting flower and fruit still lifes that will make your taste buds tingle and your eyes twinkle. Even at a young age, her still lifes in oil and watercolour were highly sought after. Her success allowed her to support her father and brother, both of whom were also painters but sadly went blind in later life.
