Socks by Taeuber-Arp

These socks are inspired by a colorful geometric painting by the Swiss multi-
disciplinary artist Sophie Taeuber-Arp (1889-1943). Over the course of her life, she worked as a designer, teacher, puppet maker, architect, painter, interior designer, sculptor, performer, jewellery maker, illustrator and magazine editor. She literally dabbled in everything from painting and sculpture to dance and architecture, refusing to be boxed by conventional norms. She may be difficult to pin down, but it is certain that she is one of her country’s most cherished artists: Taeuber-Arp is the only woman to appear on a Swiss banknote, with her portrait appearing on the 50-franc note from 1995 to 2016.
