Singer Laren: Charley Toorop

Singer Laren: Charley Toorop

Dutch painter Charley Toorop (1891-1955) loved to capture true nature in its essence, and this painting “Branches with apples” is an excellent example! It is one of the last paintings she made in her life and she left it as a tribute to her life inspirer Vincent van Gogh.

Commissioned by Singer Laren's museum shop, we made a pair of garden gloves and matching sun hat from recycled cotton. This cheerful garden set kills two birds with one stone: it puts this sparkling painting from the Singer collection in the spotlight and fits well with her own famous museum garden designed by Piet Oudolf.
